Burlap Wreath With Interchangeable flowers
I saw this awesome jute and burlap ruffle wreath featured on Tatertots and Jello (one of my favorite blogs) it was made by Myra over at the Casabella Project. Check her out, definitely some awesome stuff.
One of the biggest concerns I had (AND STILL HAVE!!) when I started this blog, is that I am good at recreating other peoples ideas…..but when it comes to creating my own unique stuff, well it doesn’t happen as often as I would like. Inspiration for me usually strikes through seeing something wonderful that someone else has made. I am hoping that as I continue to craft and share those crafts with you that I will start having unique crafting inspiration all my own!
I found the wreath at the dollar store and wrapped it in jute. This would have taken forever but my husband (who is a freakin’ rockstar) devised an ingenious way to speed up the wrapping process.
Here is a picture of him holding the wreath with his toes. If you do that and then wrap the jute loosely around the wreath over and over and over and over and over than you can scoot all the loosely wrapped jute over to the tightly wrapped jute and pull to tighten. Then take your hand that is not holding the jute and twist the jute around the wreath and then pull to tighten again. This method is SO much faster than trying to keep the jute tight with each individual wrap.
One of my favorite things about this wreath (beside the cute factor) is that the flowers or embellishments are interchangeable! That way you can just change them out for each season.
I made the flowers and then glued a velcro dot to the back of each flower and to the wreath.
I will post a tutorial later this week on how to make these flowers, super easy!!!
P.S. I am linking up to these parties:

LOVE it, turned out really cute!!!! Mom and I think you are a freakin' crazy craft rockstar too!
That turned out so cute! Now I want one for my front door. Hmm…do you think Brad will wrap the jute for me too? But seriously I want to make one. Where do I find the jute? How do I do the burlap? Etc? Etc? Luckily, you live close enough that once I get the supplies, I'm heading to your house for some crafting! Where did you end up finding the burlap?
I found the jute at joanns, and come over I will show you how to ruffle the burlap! Oh, and the burlap was in a special place I had put it so I wouldn't forget where it was! You know how that goes!
Super cute! I need to start decorating for spring! You've inspired me!
Love the interchangeable flowers! Great job!
This is adorable! I love that your hubs helped you and I love that he did it in candy cane PJs!
